Guiding service
The Casa de Guías is home to the Peruvian Mountain Guide Association. This is the best place in
Huaraz for information on
trekking and climbing, local or private transportation, prices, guides, cooks, porters, arrieros and mules.
They can also advise you on organised trips, weather conditions, and a place to meet up with other hikers. They have a hostel, a rescue team and their
qualified mountain and trekking guides
are registered members of the association.
They have a small library of hiking books for reference, and some books and maps for sale. Don't head for the mountains without visiting them. Parque Ginebra 28-G. Tel/fax: 721811. Open 09.00-13.00, 16.00-20.00.
